Hello!

So I guess this will be a place I can scribble some of my thoughts down. Making this website has been a big step for me and I'm grateful for the support from my friends and family who have always encouraged me to keep sharing my creations. It's also kind of neat to have my own little space on the information superway we call the internet. Hopefully I use this site to do more than just showcase some of my work. I really like the idea of blogging so I might just do that (even though it'll probably get lost and never read lol). Maybe just for the sake of showing my kids one day.

Well not much is going on in my life right now. Coronavirus has kind of made this year a wash. Luckily, its a good time to be growing my hair out and throwing myself into my studies and work. Its weird to see everyone beg for a normal back. I think normal is a strange word, especially when used in the context of the state of society. Our world is an ever-changing solution to the problems we face and the problems that inevitably develop from those solutions that we create. If we were in the generation before us, we would ask for a normal back after 9/11? Or the generation before that during the Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam War? Or before that when the entire world was at war for the second time? Or before that when the Great Depression left America in shambles? Or before that during the first World War?  I can keep going, but I guess you get my point.

All those events shaped our society into what it is. We now have to go through an extraneous amount of security at TSA (which is all kinda for moot according to studies done by the CIA but don't get me started on that). Do you think Vietnam is normal after their country was ravaged? It's my opinion that Coronavirus has fundamentally changed the way we interact socially. A large amount of workers will now opt to work from home. We'll, at least for the immediate future, be conscious of the way we spread germs. When you're picking out vegetables at the supermarket, you're aware of how many vegetables you're touching.

What do you think? What kind of permanent changes can we expect in our society? What's the definition of normal that people are really yearning for? Is it just being able to go back to bars with your friends again? Or is it expecting to be able to go out without a mask? How long until we roam the streets without seeing any face masks in sight? Let me know in the comments below.
